Dr. Bob and Marcy Lawless were not interested in leading another fund raiser. They’d done enough of that while serving as President and First Lady of the University of Tulsa. So when asked to serve as co-chairs of the FPC Come, Celebrate the Journey Now! Capital Campaign they were not initially interested. Only over time and through much prayer did they come to believe that this was a God-sized project offering people an opportunity to participate in what the Lord is doing at First Church. And the rest is history.

This Sunday, March 7th, the First Church worshipping congregation will hear a comprehensive update from Bobby Pielsticker on this historic campaign. The results have been truly remarkable. I have been a pastor for almost thirty years. Never have I witnessed a more generous effort of heartfelt giving, brimming with countless, inspiring stories of dedication and commitment. As you’ll hear on Sunday, we have every reason to believe that the First Church facility will facilitate the purposes of Jesus Christ for the next 100 years!
